Data protection
1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website within the meaning of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is:
Andreas Fester, Franz-Xaver-Honold-Str. 33, 76149 Karlsruhe, Germany. Email: Andreas.Fester@gmx.de
2. Server log files
When you visit this website, our hosting provider’s servers automatically collect and store information in server log files, which your browser transmits automatically. This includes: the date and time of access, the page accessed, the browser type and version, the operating system used, and the IP address.
This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest), our legitimate interest being the technically error-free operation and security of this website. The data is not merged with other data sources.
3. Website analytics (WP Statistics)
This website uses WP Statistics, a self-hosted web analytics plugin developed by VeronaLabs, 5460 West Main Street, Verona, NY 13478, USA. Unlike most third-party analytics tools, WP Statistics processes and stores all data locally on this website’s own server — it does not, by default, transmit visitor data to VeronaLabs or any other external server.
The plugin does not set any cookies. IP addresses are anonymized before storage by setting the last segment of the address to 0 (e.g. 192.168.1.0), so no direct identification of individual visitors is possible.
Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in understanding aggregate visitor numbers and improving the website). Because no cookies are set and no personally identifiable data is stored, this processing does not require visitor consent under the German TTDSG (Telecommunications-Telemedia Data Protection Act).
Statistics data is retained for 12 months and then automatically deleted.
4. No transfer to third parties
Personal data collected on this website is not shared with third parties for advertising or any other purpose without your express consent. Any use by third parties of contact details published on this website for advertising purposes is expressly prohibited; we reserve the right to take legal action against unsolicited advertising (e.g. spam email).
5. Data transmission security
Please note that data transmission over the internet (e.g. via email) can have security vulnerabilities; complete protection against third-party access cannot be guaranteed. We accept no liability for damages arising from such vulnerabilities.
6. Your rights as a data subject
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR) — you may request information about the personal data we process about you.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) — you may request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) — you may request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR).
- Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).
- Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR) — you may object at any time to processing based on legitimate interest, for reasons arising from your particular situation.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in section 1 above.
7. Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for Baden-Württemberg is:
Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg (LfDI) Königstraße 10a, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany. Website: https://www.baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de
